After a series of leaks and hints, Overwatch's latest event is now live. Unlike many recent events, Uprising is an in-game world event that doesn't have anything to do with a real world holiday or seasonal event. The special event brings a lot of exciting limited time changes to the game, including a new game mode with an altered version of a familiar map.
Players participating in Overwatch's Uprising event have the chance to play through the new cooperative brawl that puts teams in control of Tracer and her friends as they battle against waves of Omnic extremists. The brawl takes place on a map that is a modified version of King's Row and will be playable in two variations. In one, players take control of Tracer, Reinhardt, Mercy or Torbjörn and in the other players can select any of 24 characters on the current Overwatch roster. Like an event for any Blizzard game, obviously there will also be lots of loot to motivate players. Uprising brings the addition of more than 100 cosmetic items that can be earned from loot boxes. Although the skins are the most exciting rewards, there will also be special emotes, highlight intros, sprays, and more.
