All the comics for Overwatch's Tracer are coming together in a graphic novel collection. The tie-in stories by Dark Horse supplement the narrative of Overwatch, and Tracer's recent comics are coming to print.

Blizzard's first-person team shooter made waves back during launch in 2016. A cast of recognizable characters with signature playstyles attracted fans of all kinds. While the title itself mainly centers on PvP gameplay, there has been an underlying story told through Overwatch comic books. In the lead up for Overwatch 2 Dark Horse created the London Calling series, a multi-part comic surrounding Tracer.

A graphic novel version of Tracer's adventure is coming to bookstores on September 18. This collection brings all the issues of London Calling to print in one place, along with special cover art for the novel. For those unfamiliar with the series, it has a group of established creators behind it. The writer, Mariko Tamaki, has worked on other major publications in the Marvel and DC universe. Plus, the art is done by Babs Tarr who is fairly well known for her work on Batgirl's design.

Though the narrative of Overwatch follows the perspective of different heroes, London Calling focuses specifically on Tracer. In the official description, Dark Horse refers to how the signature hero is back to work despite the organization disbanding. An omnic brings attention to how his people are living in terrible conditions throughout Britain's capital. This connects to a deeper plot happening behind the scenes, where certain forces are intentionally pitting humans and omnics against each other.

Hardcore fans of Blizzard's shooter will be happy to hear of a print version of London Calling. Tracer is one of the main faces of the game Overwatch, so it makes sense that her comic series would get a graphic novel. While the series does not reveal the entire story, it gives a tease of what could be coming for the story in Overwatch 2. With so many quality artists working on the novel, it should be of high quality when it finally comes out.

However, this is unlikely to be an adequate replacement for the delay of Overwatch 2. This year BlizzCon 2021 came and went, and there were no highlights or content updates for the original game. Without a release date for the sequel in sight, some fans may drop out before this graphic novel even launches. It is hard to say whether players are still truly invested in the story 5 years after the game came out. But for all the Tracer mains out there, they can finally grab a print collection of her comic series later this year.

Overwatch is a available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
