Overwatch fans logging into the game should all now be able to play as Sombra, the hacking hero with serious sabotage skills and a rather mean machine pistol.

Overwatch fans who have been eagerly awaiting for the release of Sombra need not wait any longer, as Blizzard has now officially released the character on all platforms. In the new update, players will also be able to take a look at the new Antarctica map, the new arcade mode, and experience a veritable mountain of balancing updates. The road to Sombra's release hasn't exactly been a smooth one, and we're sure Blizzard will be happy to shift focus to fan feedback on the character herself rather than her slow release.

Sombra was finally revealed during the opening ceremonies of BlizzCon 2016, and has since been featured in many videos from the public test realms. The new heroic hacker can sabotage the enemy team's health packs and even disable the abilities of other heroes, making her a key asset for any Overwatch team. Beyond her skills in the art of sabotage, Sombra is a stealth master, as she's able to cloak herself, boost her speed, and remain invisible until she either attacks, uses an ability, or takes damage while cloaked.

Those playing on the PC need only to restart the Battle.net launcher in order for the Sombra update to install, whereas console gamers should see the respective patch download automatically. Provided that background updates are enabled, chances are the Overwatch update may already be ready to go, and those gamers can play as Sombra as quickly as they can log into the game.

Players will also be able to jump into the aforementioned new Arcade mode in the latest update, which adds five game modes at the cost of Weekly Brawls being retired. Replacing the scheduled brawls are 6v6 All Brawls, 6v6 Mystery Heroes, 3v3 Elimination, 1v1 Mystery Duels, and 6v6 No Limits. The last game mode will allow teams to include more than one of each roster character on their team, a feature which was just removed from Quick Play.

Players should also expect an overhaul to how players level up in Overwatch, along with plenty of smaller adjustments: Pharah can now fly indefinitely, and plenty of weapon balance changes have been thrown into the mix as well. Gamers can see the full list of changes here.

As was likely planned long ago, Sombra's arrival comes just before a free gaming weekend which will allow gamers everywhere to try out Overwatch at no cost, so those still on the fence about getting the game can take it - and, by extension, Sombra - out for a test ride. The free Overwatch weekend runs from November 18 at 11AM PT to November 21 at 4PM PT.

Sombra is available in Overwatch now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
