The Blizzard universe-themed Overwatch map Blizzard World arrives next week along with several brand new cosmetics (skins, sprays, and emotes) for players to unlock. Blizzard has been teasing these new cosmetics ahead of launch and the latest reveals are something worth getting excited about.

Blizzard has confirmed that the Overwatch cosmetic update will include new legendary skins for Lucio and Hanzo. Lucio's skin is Capoeira Lucio, which is a nod to the musical healer's Afro-Brazilian heritage. Created by African slaves in Brazil in the 16th century, capoeira is a martial arts style that incorporates elements of dance, music, and acrobatics. Lucio is known for his acrobatic maneuvers (he has the ability to ride walls) and so this skin suits the character relatively well.

The new Hanzo legendary skin, called Kabuki Hanzo, also celebrates the character's heritage. Kabuki is a type of dance and drama performance that originated in Japan in the 17th century. Its performers are known for the make-up that they wear, which is why the new Hanzo cosmetic paints the Japanese archer's body white and red. Much of Hanzo's design is rooted in Japanese traditions (including his use of a bow and arrow) and Blizzard likely designed Kabuki Hanzo with that in mind.

Kabuki Hanzo and Capoeira Lucio are just a couple of the new legendary skins that Blizzard has in store for Overwatch players. Other skins arriving next week include the legendary Pharah skin, Asp Pharah, which also references her heritage.

Moreover, Blizzard has confirmed that there will be several Blizzard-themed cosmetics coming to the game too. All of the playable heroes in the game will receive cosmetics based on Blizzard games like Barbarian Zarya and Butcher Roadhog. Between the skins coming in the Blizzard World update and the hundreds of Overwatch League skins that were introduced earlier this month, fans have a sweltering amount of loot to unlock.

Overwatch players aren't just excited for the arrival of new loot, though; many are delighted that the cosmetics in the Blizzard World update aren't limited to an event. Blizzard has confirmed that the loot in the Blizzard World update (including the Pharah, Hanzo, and Lucio legendaries) will be available in base loot boxes. So while the best loot may still be an incredibly rare drop, fans won't need to rush in order to unlock it all.

Overwatch is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
