One of the keys to success for gamers in Overwatch is using the environment to their advantage. Many maps contain out-of-bounds spots where walking off an edge will cause the player to die. In fact, a number of heroes in Overwatch feature abilities that let them knock opponents backward and potentially into these map hazards. One of these characters with this type of kit is Roadhog.

As part of the original cast of heroes that came with Overwatch at release in 2016, Roadhog is well-known among gamers. He is a Tank character that originates from Junkertown, along with his partner in crime, Junkrat. Over the years, many gamers have enjoyed playing as Roadhog due to his Chain Hook and his ability to heal. However, his Ultimate, Whole Hog, should not be ignored since it has the potential to cause widespread destruction.

Recently, one gamer known as almostalwaysafraid revealed just how devastating the Whole Hog ability could be in a game of Overwatch. Taking to Reddit, the user shared a clip from a recent game they had participated in on the Lijiang Tower Control map. The video began with the player pushing up towards the enemy bridge on the Garden section of the map. While it looked like an intense skirmish was about the breakout, the Reddit user, who was playing as Roadhog, had other ideas.

After initially hooking an enemy Sigma, almostalwaysafraid whipped out their Whole Hog Ultimate and began spraying shrapnel at the opposing team. Taking full advantage of the enemy team’s placement next to a large pit, the Roadhog player used their Ultimate to push most of the opposing team off the edge into the deadly abyss below. As a result of this play, the player noted that the enemy team lost their competitive spirit and the match. In addition, the Ultimate from Roadhog managed to kill five of the players on the enemy team.

Since posting this play of the game clip to Reddit, numerous members of the Overwatch community have taken notice of the skill of almostalwaysafraid. In less than a day, the video has already received several hundred upvotes. While several users pointed out that Roadhog actually only got five eliminations instead of six as they had claimed (Reaper secured the sixth kill), the play was nonetheless impressive.

It will be interesting to see what types of plays gamers such as almostalwaysafraid are able to pull off with Roadhog in the next beta for Overwatch 2. Expected to start on June 28, this next test run for the hotly-anticipated sequel will give fans a chance to play as the recently revealed Junker Queen as well as battle on an all-new map. Hopefully, Overwatch 2 will provide the community with a new batch of gameplay clips showing off the talented skills of community members.

Overwatch is available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
