The professional Overwatch team Selfless is down one player, as Tracer and Soldier: 76 main Dafran has been indefinitely suspended from the team due to his actions on Twitch, such as trying to convince his fans to throw Competitive Play games. Not only has Dafran been suspended from his team, but he has also been banned from playing the game's fifth season of Competitive Play, and has been suspended from playing Overwatch at all for one week.

Dafran's team Selfless will still be able to compete in the game's first season of professional play, but the team will have to find a substitute. In a statement, Selfless has promised to help Dafran get help so that he may one day return to the team and continue playing Overwatch on a professional level.

"While Dafran will no longer be playing with our team, we will be assisting him in finding the help, counseling, and guidance that he needs to improve his mental and emotional well-being.  He is a dear friend, and we will be as supportive as possible during this time off from competitive play, so that he can come back stronger and better than ever."

Dafran, in the meantime, released a statement of his own, saying, "I honestly do not give a s*** what [happens] to me and my f****** career, you can all go f*** yourselves." However, he did express remorse that his actions on Twitch may have negatively impacted his teammates.

Whether or not Dafran receives the help he needs is anyone's guess. Based on his statement, he is not terribly concerned with getting counseling to work through any issues that may have influenced him to act out in this way. For the uninitiated, Dafran's suspension from Overwatch and Selfless has come about due to griefing other players, trying to convince his Twitch followers to throw Competitive Play games, and posting pornographic images in his streams. This behavior violated Blizzard's policy that professional Overwatch players must act with sportsmanlike conduct at all times.

Overall, it's unfortunate that Dafran will be missing out on Overwatch's fifth season of Competitive Play, which will be marked by the new Horizon Lunar Colony map and possibly new heroes, but perhaps he will turn a new leaf once his suspension is up.

Overwatch is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
