The newest Overwatch hero might be going live in the game sooner than expected, if Blizzard is to be believed.

The latest Overwatch hero, Moira, got her big reveal at BlizzCon 2017 two weeks ago. Unlike other heroes that came before, little to nothing was known about this hero before she was announced.

Blizzard did away with the usual teases this time, which have begun to cause more headaches for the community than hype anyway. And, unlike other heroes, she is the first healer with devastating offensive capabilities. Moira became available on the PTR (Public Test Region) shortly after her reveal, but Blizzard has yet to give any indication of when she'll go live -- or has it?

The company recently announced another Overwatch Free Weekend that allows anyone to play the game without spending any money. The news came from the official Overwatch blog, where dates and details for the event were laid out. One portion of the announcement that is catching people's eye reads, "For this free weekend, we're making Overwatch's full roster of 26 heroes and 16 maps available for play."

What's curious is there are only 25 available characters currently live in Overwatch, with Moira being added in later as the 26th. This could indicate that Moira is planned to go live either today, November 14, or sometime before the free weekend starts on November 17. The number could be an oversight by Blizzard staff, but it seems unlike the company to make such an obvious mistake.

To further add fuel to the fire, almost 1 GB of patch data has been downloaded in the background of Overwatch the week ahead of the actual patch release. Adding a new hero to the roster would certainly call for a decent amount of new data, so perhaps Blizzard has been covertly prepping her for this event.

Typically, new Heroes are added on Tuesdays, but Moira could see a release closer to the Overwatch Free Weekend, which is this weekend from November 17-20. At this point, all that can be done is to wait and see what happens. The Overwatch community will be on their toes this week, anxiously awaiting the arrival of this awesome new support hero.

Overwatch is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
