At Blizzcon 2017 last week, Blizzard introduced Overwatch fans to a new character named Moira, who uses orbs to drain her enemies for self-healing. Given how complex that mechanic could be, some fans are concerned Moira could make a huge impact on the current meta of the game.

This week, Blizzard set the character loose on the Overwatch PTR (Public Test Region), which means she is free for anyone on PC to try. This testing will give Blizzard a chance to tweak and test the character's abilities, making sure that the character is properly balanced.

Launching Moira on the PTR first will also give players an opportunity find her strengths and weaknesses. Moira is considered to be a combination of Zenyatta and Symmetra, but some say she isn't quite as easy to play as those two supports. For example, she can only do a certain amount of healing before she must 'recharge' the bar by dealing damage to enemies. Her damage/healing orbs also bounce off of the map, so players will need to work the angles to be efficient.

Moreover, Moira's arrival on the Overwatch PTR allows players to take a look at all of her cosmetics, including her skins, sprays, and voice lines. These cosmetics, as shown off in the video above, include a couple of David Bowie-inspired get-ups. Overwatch players had already suggested that the character was based on Bowie due to their similar, cosmic, androgynous styles, and this only confirms it.

While Blizzard previously revealed some of the character's history in an origins video, the Osiris and Minister skins offer even more information about Moira's time as a politician. An information box explains that "thanks to her brilliance and their shared desire to achieve scientific advancement at any cost, the founders of Oasis invited her to join them as their Minister of Genetics."

Overwatch PTR players have been enjoying Moira's unlocks, saying that they make her seem like a cartoon villain (in the best way possible). But even more cosmetics may be available for the character when she is officially released next year. Blizzard has also unveiled some crossover skins for Overwatch characters and promises that all 26 heroes (including Moira) will get new cosmetics to unlock in 2018.

Overwatch is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
