Part of what makes Overwatch stand out is how much depth there is to each hero and their abilities, as players need to spend dozens of hours with a character to fully master them. One Overwatch hero that is particularly powerful once players learn how to use him is Lucio, something shown through a recent clip.

Memorable Overwatch clips are being shared every day, with players always quick to show off their best moments online. These plays range from well-timed Genji deflects to clever Ultimate counters from heroes like Roadhog. When it comes to memorable Lucio plays, the clip will usually see players utilizing a clever Lucio route before pulling off a fancy kill. That was the case with the play made by thexboxlucio, though the wallrun is actually the least impressive part of the footage.

In the clip, the Lucio player can be seen on the Overwatch map Havana. As the team tries to contest, thexboxlucio runs back towards the group, providing some boosted healing as they begin to run on the wall of the building across from the castle. After starting the run, they turn around, jumping up to the top of the wall in the process. They then give themselves a boost of speed as they fly straight off the wall, moving through the air quickly as they approach their target.

The impressive Lucio play then gets even better, as the player ends up being directly above an enemy Pharah. As the Rocket Queen hovers in the sky, thexboxlucio activates Sound Barrier. Lucio slams down just like he always does, though the end of his Sonic Amplifier does not hit Pharah directly in the head, with the damage hero being killed instantly. Not only is it extremely rare to see a Sound Barrier kill, but the fact that thexboxlucio was able to get one in mid-air and on Pharah is truly spectacular.

With over 13,000 upvotes in the day since it was posted, the Overwatch community has been blown away by the clip. According to thexboxlucio, they were trying to pull off a similarly ridiculous play by climbing the palm tree to reach Pharah, with the clip being their second try. It may be for the best that this first attempt did not work, though, as it is hard to imagine a scenario where it was more impressive than the play that was shown.

With players likely unable to recreate this moment if they tried, as an enemy Pharah would need to be in the perfect position for the Lucio player to hit her with the beat drop, this play is special. Though many more great Lucio clips will surely be shared in the future, it will be tough to top this one when it comes to Sound Barrier kills.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
