Since its launch, the Overwatch League has been no stranger to controversy. A number of its players have faced disciplinary action for a variety of reasons, but one professional Overwatch player that has continuously found himself in trouble is Felix "xQc" Lengyel, who was recently hit with his second four game suspension and fined $4,000. In light of this, Lengyel and Dallas Fuel have "mutually agreed to part ways."

Lengyel's latest suspension came about for repeatedly using a "racially disparaging" emote while streaming, and for using "disparaging language" against other players, including those in the Overwatch League. Lengyel's first Overwatch suspension came about when he hurled homophobic insults at a fellow professional Overwatch player who is openly gay.

Now that Lengyel is no longer part of Dallas Fuel, it remains to be seen what he will do next. It's possible that another Overwatch League team will try to sign him, but given his issues with misconduct, that seems unlikely. Lengyel's personal social media accounts have been updated to suggest that he may try his hand at streaming games full-time, as opposed to being an eSports athlete, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

It's clear by Felix "xQc" Lengyel leaving Dallas Fuel and the disciplinary action taken against other professional Overwatch players that Blizzard is serious about enforcing the rules. However, it's also somewhat alarming that so many fines and suspensions have come about in the league's short life. Perhaps this behavior will lessen the more these punishments are handed out, or maybe it will be a permanent problem in the Overwatch League.

Whatever the case may be, the Overwatch League isn't going anywhere any time soon. Despite some controversies early on, the Overwatch League appears to be a mostly successful venture for Blizzard, and shows no signs of slowing down.

Overwatch is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
