Overwatch recently kicked off its Summer Games 2019 event, and like with every Overwatch event, it brings with it new skins for players to unlock. This time around, Overwatch players have seven new skins to unlock, including three skins that are unlocked by winning games instead of getting lucky with loot boxes.

For the first week of the Overwatch Summer Games 2019 event, players will be able to unlock the American Reaper skin by winning nine games in any game mode. For the second week, winning nine games will unlock the Zhongguo Mei skin. And finally, winning nine games in the third week unlocks the Bundesadler Reinhardt skin. Besides the skins, players will unlock cosmetic rewards every three wins as well, in the form of sprays and player icons.

As for the other Summer Games 2019 skins, Overwatch fans will have to get them out of loot boxes or purchase them with in-game currency.

The Overwatch Summer Games 2019 event will be live from now until August 5. So that means fans have a few weeks to unlock the new skins, as well as try to unlock some of the past Summer Games skins that they may have missed out on. They will also be able to play Lucioball in Arcade throughout Summer Games 2019, giving players the opportunity to unlock extra loot boxes and earn some achievements.

Looking ahead, there's plenty for Overwatch fans to look forward to for the rest of 2019. For example, Hero 31 is expected to be added to the game before the end of the year. Plus, Blizzard is expected to reveal the future of the hero-based shooter at its 2019 BlizzCon event, with rumors pointing to a major Overwatch announcement at this year's show.

Rumors and leaks have indicated that Blizzard may shock fans with an Overwatch 2 announcement at BlizzCon. According to the leaks, Overwatch 2 will have a PvE focus with comparisons made to Left 4 Dead, but we'll have to wait and see if there's any truth to the rumors.

Overwatch is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
