Overwatch's Halloween Terror event is returning next week, starting on October 9th and going all the way to October 31st. There are currently no details out regarding the event, but it's returning for the third time - leading most players to know what to expect, in the most general sense.

Over the past couple of years, the Halloween Terror event has come with a collection of new skins and access to the Junkenstein's Revenge game mode. Skins from previous Halloween events will also become available when Halloween Terror opens up next week, giving fans another opportunity to earn - or buy - their favorite spooky Overwatch skin.

The event this year lands almost on the same day of 2017's Halloween Terror event, which came out on October 10th. Blizzard makes a habit each year of launching their events on about the same time each month, all while including new events during the in-between areas.

The Junkenstein's Revenge mode that comes along with Halloween Terror was one of Overwatch's earliest introductions to PvE content, which has become a well-liked component of other events. Most notably, the Overwatch Uprising event has become a well-loved PvE experience that also does some considerable lore work for the game.

While Halloween Terror has a much lighter tone than the serious, lore-focused Uprising event, it's still just as well-liked. The Halloween event is given a ton of love from the community for how well it captures the spirit of the holiday. The bright tones of Overwatch tend to become darker, with skins being anything from silly lifeguard outfits, classical Chinese vampire designs, and good old-fashioned demons.

If previous events are anything to go by, the Overwatch Twitter account will stat teasing skins for the event any day now. Generally, the account teases a skin each day in anticipation for the full launch of any in-game event.

Overwatch is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
