Halloween is definitely one of the most anticipated holidays during the year, especially with online titles like Overwatch hyping up the activities with its own special events. With Overwatch Halloween Terror 2021 already in full swing, both fans and players are likely inspired by the new trailer, hero skins, event rewards, and more. However, it seems like one fan still adores the classic Halloween look of popular support hero Mercy, having created an original pixel artwork that depicts the healer in her witch outfit.

Overwatch's Mercy is no stranger to fan adoration. Not only is her design quite pleasing to the eyes of the players, her healer gameplay can either make or break a team's game. Arguably one of the most popular characters of Overwatch, many in the community have spent a lot of effort to create content that is solely dedicated to her. This can be seen in the sheer amount of fan art and cosplay that pop up on social media platforms and online forums. Therefore, it is not surprising that another fan took the time to redraw Mercy's witch skin but in the pixel art style.

To share their love of Mercy to the Overwatch community, Redditor muwucy posted their original pixel artwork on the online platform. On their Reddit profile, the artist explains that they mainly play Overwatch, Sims 4, and Minecraft, which may explain why they decided to make a pixelated fan art of the support hero. Though the artwork depicts Mercy in her famous witch skin, the artist drew it in such a way that it seemed more bright and shiny, compared to the usual dark Halloween type of images that are associated with the outfit. It likely has something to do with the light shades of the background, and the pixel clouds floating behind Mercy.

Commenters on the Reddit thread shared with the original poster their love for Mercy, stating how cute the artist drew the character. Muwucy even replied to another Redditor's comment of how the artwork was made, explaining that they drew the fanart using the program Procreate. With the artist only sharing pixel art of one of the many characters in Overwatch, other users commented that they hoped that muwucy would also pixel versions of the other heroes.

With the Overwatch sequel introducing new looks and heroes to the community, muwucy will likely have more inspiration to create pixel artwork of the other heroes. Fans will have to stay tuned on Reddit or the artist's social media platforms to see more of their works in the future.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
