The many heroes of Overwatch are what define the game, and artistic fans often use their creativity to expand on each character’s cosmetic lineup. The same has been done with Echo, with one Overwatch fan going above and beyond with their concept.

As a robot, there is plenty of potential for Echo’s additional Overwatch skins. Blizzard has given the character a more military-like design through the Camo outfit, while the Butterfly skin is as colorful as it gets. The Surfs Up and Kkachi event skins have proven particularly popular, too, and with Echo being the most recent hero added, there is still plenty of potential for her future skin additions. However, if Evanyla had her way, Echo would look just like the platform that many use to play Overwatch.

This Overwatch skin concept is impressive for two reasons, one of which should be obvious immediately. Usually, fan-made skin ideas take the form of 2D art pieces, with gamers sketching up their design and making an intricate drawing. However, using Unreal Engine, Evanyla has brought gaming PC Echo to life. Dubbed “Dark Circuit,” Echo looks incredible as she moves around the menu, showing off all the details in a proper 3D environment. As for the skin itself, there is plenty to love.

Evanyla begins showing off Dark Circuit Echo with shots of her appendages, as her finger tips can be seen glowing and changing colors. The fan then shows a front view of Echo’s face, confirming that her head will cycle through a rainbow of colors just like her fingers do. All across the skin’s body, certain segments are lit up with color, while everything else is a dark black. The fan then spins Echo around, showing how well the skin concept translates to the actual game.

While the concept of a rainbow colored Echo may sound over the top and unattractive, the black perfectly balances out the colorful aspects of the outfit. As such, many Overwatch fans wish that the skin was official, with some even saying it is better than all the other skins that are currently in the game. Redditors like PuGGs247 were even planning to load up and buy the game before they saw fan skin in the title, showing just how well made this Unreal Engine version of Echo is. While Evanyla confirms in the comments that the PC-themed skin was originally made as a joke, the final product is certainly cooler than it is funny.

Hopefully, whenever Overwatch 2 finally releases, Echo gets some cosmetics as unique as this one. While there are countless ways that Blizzard can make clever adjustments to her default appearance, this Dark Circuit creation makes it clear that some more ridiculous concepts can turn out to be incredible.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4 Switch, and Xbox One.
