Brigitte is one of the most cheerful characters in the Overwatch universe, taking joy in her role as Reinhardt’s squire and being a constant source of positivity on any team in-game. As such, seeing her take on a demonic look is a bit unexpected, though one Overwatch cosplayer has done just that.
More likely to be found at the cat cafe in the Kanezaka Deathmatch map than competing with Reaper for the most imposing character design, Brigitte’s surprise appearance as a demon comes courtesy of cosplayer Kamui. Sharing that the outfit took “16 months of work,” it is easy to understand why, as the “1000 LED lights and a buttload of foam” were undoubtedly a tough task to get right. However, Kamui nailed it, as her design easily makes for one of the coolest and most unique cosplays ever shared for Overwatch.
A veteran cosplayer that has previously shared accurate looks based on characters like Aloy from the Horizon series, Kamui’s experience comes through clearly with her Brigitte design. On the character’s head are two lined horns, while Brig’s skin is a unique shade of purple. Boasting hair in a matching color, black lips and eyeliner, and bright red eyes, Kamui’s demonic Brigitte is off to a great start. However, while the makeup is great, Brigitte’s armor and gear truly steal the show.
As stated in the cosplayer’s tweet where the outfit was shared, the costume sees the Swedish support hero influenced heavily by Blizzard’s beloved Diablo series. Clearly shown in the detailed armor donned by Brigitte, the inspiration makes for an unforgettable design. Small mouths with sharp teeth on the hero’s knee armor, belt, and shoulders make for an intimidating touch, and the LED lights used to light them are the perfect shade of yellow. The bony neck armor also looks great, with the textures on every piece of the outfit looking high quality.
Brigitte’s weapons look truly incredible, however, and they become even cooler when it is discovered that their origin comes from a concept artist named Zack Fischer as opposed to an official skin. Much like the recently shared Hellspawn Reaper cosplay, the costume is based entirely on a fan-made skin concept, adding a special touch to Kamui’s outfit. Brigitte’s mace looks formidable, but her shield is even more imposing, as the demon face on its front and brilliant use of LED lights to surround it make for a truly badass variant of the protective tool.
From top to bottom, Kamui’s Demonic Brigitte cosplay is flawless, as every aspect of the design looks to be professionally done. While a Brigitte skin concept that shows what she would look like in the Diablo universe comes out of nowhere, the creative idea is brilliantly realized — and the result is possibly the best Brigitte cosplay ever shared.
