Conan O'Brien and Game of Thrones cast members Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey have more fun in the deleted scenes for their Clueless Gamer segment for Overwatch.

For those Overwatch fans who enjoyed the Clueless Gamer segment featuring the Game of Thrones theme with Conan O'Brien, Peter Dinklage, and Lena Headey playing Blizzard's first-person shooter, the talk show host's producers recently released a short and silly clip of outtakes with the on-air personalities. Interestingly enough, Conan wasn't the one doling out the jokes in-between the Overwatch rounds, but instead, he was on the receiving end of Dinklage and Headey poking fun at what the comedian's character would be like on HBO's wildly popular fantasy program.

According to the actors who play siblings Tyrion and Cersei Lannister in the show, Conan's style and persona wouldn't be fitting for a male character in Game of Thrones, and he would be more suited to play a "matronly wet nurse." Plus, as Dinklage points out, the talk show host's iconic hair would have to be hidden or altered since no one in Westeros or Essos would be able to sport a look like that, prompting Headey to suggest his wearing of a "bonnet."

As seen in the video below, nary a shot of Overwatch's gameplay is featured, but even so, it's still great to see Conan and the Game of Thrones actors have such a loose and carefree rapport with one another. As a matter of fact, without the typical laugh track overlaying the footage, the outtakes make the scene seem more lively and spontaneous, as it's reminiscent of a group of improvisors building a bizarre fictional character from the ground up.

While this is simply an observation and not a critique, Clueless Gamer's coverage of Overwatch is another example of the talk show host's segment starting to utilize even more cross-promotional tactics than in the bit's earliest incarnations like with his "review" of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. More specifically, Clueless Gamer has slowly begun to shift the attention less on the games it's advertising and more so onto the film, event, or television project to which the segment's participating actors or athletes are associated.

For instance, prior to the Game of Thrones themed Overwatch playthrough, Conan played Mario Kart 8 with Zac Effron and Seth Rogen to promote the release of the movie Neighbors 2. While the specific Clueless Gamer segment was definitely hilarious, the selection of a game that's more than two years old clearly shows that the focus was to advertise the actors' recently released film. Not to mention, one could also argue that the Clueless Gamer for DOOM had more to do with the Super Bowl than id Software's shooter, as Josh Norman, Von Miller, and Marshawn Lynch were the featured as the main attraction.

In any event, Conan's Clueless Gamer segment is always fun to watch no matter who is accompanying the talk show host or what's being promoted, as the comedian's incredibly quick wit and self-deprecating humor is usually at the forefront of the affair. So while more jokes about Overwatch in the outtakes above may have been preferable to some, it's hard to argue against Conan's winning personality.

Overwatch is out now and is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
