After a strong response from fans, Blizzard has decided to tweak one of the new skins in Overwatch’s Winter Wonderland 2017 event. Casual Hanzo is getting a slightly new look, but the change won’t go into effect until after the holiday-themed event has ended.

In a new blog post, Blizzard detailed the planned change to the Casual Hanzo skin that would bring it more in line with the character’s look from the Reflections comic. Although fans appreciated a design that represented Hanzo in one of Overwatch’s many side stories, they felt that the grey coloring around his temples and beard looked a little off. Blizzard agrees and plans to make a change as a result.

Unfortunately, Blizzard will not be able to make the change to Hanzo’s skin before the Winter Wonderland event ends on January 1st. Current ETA for the change is sometime in mid-January, but that could get pushed back depending on Blizzard’s priorities. Thankfully, Blizzard released a side-by-side comparison picture to show just how the Casual Hanzo skin will change; so those that want to pick up the skin can know what they are investing in.

Although Blizzard doesn’t have any big plans for new events in 2018, the studio is still expected to keep to its regular schedule from last year. Given that there are still plenty of skins from those past events that fans still want, and the opportunity to add new skins as well, it only makes sense that Blizzard refines what is already in place rather than overload Overwatch.

But what this skin change says most of all about Blizzard is that the studio is always willing to listen to its fans and by and large the developers tend to agree with feedback. The changes to the Casual Hanzo skin are so subtle that many might not see a point in doing it at all, and yet Blizzard is willing to re-color Hanzo’s sideburns and beard just to make sure that it matches a single issue comic story.
