With 32 playable characters, Overwatch provides gamers with many different options to choose from when selecting the perfect team composition. Along with this long list of heroes comes an even longer list of Overwatch skins to customize the look of each character. Despite the large collection of skins already in the game, one fan managed to design a unique piece of concept art for Brigitte with a good cause in mind.

Added to the game in 2018, Brigitte is a support hero in Overwatch. Using her Whip Shot, she can attack enemies at range. In addition, her Barrier Shield protects her from enemy bullets along with providing her with a battering ram when opponents come to close. Furthermore, she provides healing for her team through Repair Packs and her Inspire ability. With a kit built around armor and shields, she provides plenty of utility for her team. Recently, one fan decided to give her armor a new look.

In a Reddit post, a fan known as amandazerepp created concept art of a new skin for Brigitte. In an interesting twist, the artist created this new design to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month starting in October. In an image unveiling the "Pink Brig” skin, the artist showcased the predominantly pink design for the character that also included some gray leg armor for contrast. In addition, the design featured pink versions of Brigitte's flail, shield, and rally flag.

Amandazerepp gave some background as to what inspired them to create the art. While there have been other redesigns of Brigitte, this one stands out because of the purpose behind the project. The artist revealed that a coworker who was a breast cancer survivor provided the motivation to create the concept art. According to amandazerepp, the decision to include a ram on the front of Brigitte’s shield also came from the coworker, as it represented how they attempted to cope with their struggles.

This isn’t the only skin created to raise awareness of breast cancer. Amandazerepp commented that they used the Pink Mercy skin designed by the Overwatch developers back in 2018 as inspiration. Similar to the Brigitte design, this skin had a color palette consisting primarily of shades of pink along with some black contrasts. Used as part of a campaign to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Fund, the skin was an incredible success gathering nearly $10 million for the charity.

With over 4,100 upvotes on Reddit, this new concept art from amandazerepp has made a significant impact on the Overwatch community. With many fans loving the new pink design, it will be interesting to see if the artist decides to create pink skins for other support heroes as well.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
