Overwatch has cultivated a huge audience because of its multiplayer first-person shooter mechanics and personality. The game is no stranger to internal and external jokes, and this has kept fans creating content and participating. It is no surprise that Overwatch is yet again partaking in April Fool's Day, but it may shock people that it is one of the best jokes to land this year. The update doesn't affect gameplay but it does change the visuals in the game.

The game has managed to entertain players previously through a myriad of updates and new characters. This constant stream of content from Blizzard has resulted in a loyal community that has continued playing the game four years after its initial release. All fans of the game can now laugh at the odd and hilarious appearance of their favorite heroes.

The April Fool's Day update has implemented googly eyes for all the characters and it has very funny results. This update has already entertained plenty of Overwatch fans who have enjoyed seeing the eyes of enemies bobble around while they battle and many will be sad to see the setting go after April Fool's Day. This may be one of the last updates of this nature by the team behind Overwatch, as the sequel to the successful game becomes a focus. It will be interesting to see if the April Fool's Day tradition is continued in future titles and whether a sequel can impress fans like the first installment has.

Blizzard has already confirmed that Echo will be the last hero to come to the game as they devote themselves to the sequel.  Yet after years of content, fans can definitely say that Overwatch has been good value for money and the positive nature of the updates like this one will be continued to be talked about. With updates like this, many will expect the sequel to deliver similarly entertaining content.

There are still plenty of rumors about Overwatch 2, but for now, players can be amused by the updates they are receiving as they battle with their favorite heroes. Building on an impressive title is always difficult, but the updates to Overwatch over the last five years have illustrated that the team behind the game is not only capable of making improvements to the game, but also making it even more fun.
