The Overwatch esports community unfortunately lost one of its biggest stars yesterday when Kim "Alarm" Kyeong-Bo unexpectedly died. No explanation has been given for his death at the time of this writing.

Kim "Alarm" Kyeong-Bo was an accomplished professional Overwatch League player who played for the Philadelphia Fusion team as a flex support. Kim's time in the league was short, however, in that span, he won the 2020 Rookie of the Year award, a Role Stars award, and received a nomination for the Overwatch League MVP. Before joining the Philadelphia Fusion Kim had been playing for Fusion University for some time which is the organizations team in the lower level Overwatch League.

Kim's passing took place while he was in his home country of South Korea for the Overwatch League offseason. The team made a statement on their Twitter regarding Kim's death. "We are devastated and heartbroken to hear about Kim 'Alarm' Kyeong-Bo's passing. Alarm was the heart and soul of the organization, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as we mourn this tragic loss."

One of Kims Fusion team members, Elk tweeted, "Out of everyone I have met throughout my life Alarm was one of the nicest and kindest people I encountered. Its very rare you can know someone for years and only have positive memories and experiences with them. To be honest I'm kind of lost for words." Aaron Atkins, a prominent figure in the esports community tweeted "If you ever got a chance to play/work with Alarm, you know just how special he was as a competitor and teammate. The world is cruel man, I'll miss ya buddy."

The passing of Alarm is a huge loss for the Overwatch community, and it's clear by the outpouring of support for his friends and family that he will be dearly missed by many.
