After missing out on the first season of Overwatch 2, the fan favorite map known as Blizzard World has not only been added, but has been improved with a few well regarded visual touches. The map itself, originally being added to the original Overwatch in early 2018, was essentially a love letter to the company's various franchises. Set inside of a fictional Blizzard theme park, players can see all sorts of references and Easter eggs to franchises like Diablo, Lost Vikings, Warcraft, StarCraft, and more. Naturally, it quickly became a fan favorite map to play on during games of Assault and Escort. While there were certainly a fair share of Overwatch 2 fans disappointed to see some original maps missing from the sequel including Blizzard World, the studio announced plans to switch up the map rotation pool during Season 2. A recent Overwatch 2 blog post revealed that Rialto and Blizzard World would be returning alongside an all-new map known as Shambali Monastery, likely linked to the Season 2 hero, Ramattra. The recent update apparently added new weather effects to Blizzard World, giving the map a new visual look as well as improved aesthetics and atmosphere. The dynamic weather, which apparently will be updated seasonally, includes different effects such as the rainy overcast version that is currently available. The rain version of Blizzard World even leaves behind water puddles that are reflective and scattered around the map randomly.

Its worth noting that the weather effects don't impact gameplay, but the updated visuals are apparently pleasing a lot of players. Posts on social media have continued to pop up, praising and showcasing the new visual effects on Blizzard World. Some have even made jokes regarding making plans to go to a theme park, only to be met by rain, while others have shown general excitement at a more visually dynamic map.

In addition to new maps, players have also been utilizing the newest character to join the roster, the Null Sector leader known as Ramattra. Season 2 also saw a balance update applied to the roster, nerfing powerful characters like Sojourn, while boosting others who the community has deemed to be underwhelming so far including Doomfist.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
