While tunnel vision can strike any players during an intense multiplayer match, one team appears to suffer from an extreme case of it while playing Overwatch 2, and the opposing Tracer was there to capitalize on it. The chaotic hero-driven multiplayer matches inside of Blizzard's competitive shooter can cause plenty of confusion, especially as the opposing teams trade objectives in modes such as Push and Control. However, this team in particular is so bent on keeping the opposing team stuck in their spawn that it ultimately proves detrimental.

Overwatch 2 has no shortage of multiplayer modes for players to enjoy and dig into across quick play, arcade, custom games, and competitive playlists. Objective-focused modes including Hybrid and Escort are among the most widely common match modes as they appear in the unranked quick play, competitive, and arcade, while a variety of other modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag are also available in the arcade playlist. Several other modes are also available between arcade and custom games for players looking to scratch the itch for more competitive play or something more relaxed.

It was during an Escort match where the aforementioned team fell victim to tunnel vision, allowing the Tracer to slip by seemingly unnoticed and move the payload to the first checkpoint with no resistance. Reddit user Lucas_Dash shared a clip of the match from the Tracer's perspective on the Overwatch subreddit to show how easily they appear to sneak by the opposing team to the payload despite the chaotic fight going on at their starting spawn. This chaos worked to the Tracer's advantage, using their abilities to speed past the team and camp on the payload while the rest of both teams remained locked in an intense firefight.

The defending team's apparent bad luck didn't end there, though, as the clip shows how several of the defenders were oblivious to the Tracer sneaking the payload along even after respawning. Defenders can be seen running past the Tracer and payload back to the attacker's starting spawn, despite the payload being easily visible. On the other hand, the Tracer appears to be joined by at least one other teammate who managed to get past the firefight and join before reaching the first checkpoint.

As mentioned above, Overwatch 2's chaotic and colorful gameplay can cause plenty of confusion during intense firefights in the game's objective modes. Players can easily find clip after clip online of two teams stuck in a stalemate for either a control point or the robot in Push before one player or combo swings the match in one team's favor. That said, it wouldn't be surprising to see some players try to be a little more mindful going forward to avoid replicating what happened in this particular match.

Overwatch 2 is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
