Overwatch 2's closed beta is now live, and thousands of fans of the multiplayer team-based shooter are getting the chance to try the new hero Sojourn. Sojourn is a mid-range DPS character wielding a railgun, but her kit makes her a near-range threat, too. Having now had the time to see what Sojourn is capable of, some Overwatch 2 players think she could be one of the best DPS characters in the game. A recently shared clip from Overwatch 2's closed beta shows exactly why she's scary.

The clip in question delivers a situation where Sojourn is able to flex all of her strengths as a mid-range DPS. It's exactly what Overwatch 2 players interested in checking out Sojourn are going to want to see. Sojourn is able to use a mix of her abilities, which includes her Power Slide, Disrupter Shot, her primary and secondary fire, and her Overclock Ultimate ability, mixed with an Ana Nano Boost as icing on the cake.

In the clip, which was shared by twitch streamer Apply, Sojourn is able to receive their Nano Boost and then catch the opposing team in a hallway. Here's how Sojourn's strengths come together. When activating Sojourn's Overclock, her railgun not only auto-charges so alt-fires can be shot rapidly, but those alt-fires also pierce through enemies. As such, Apply is able to use a single railgun charge shot to kill three opponents, delivering what Apply describes as "so satisfying" Sojourn collateral kills.

What's funny is that Apply doesn't even necessarily use Sojourn's abilities at peak efficiency. Sojourn's Overclock would allow for Apply to have fired his railgun alt-fire multiple times in relatively quick succession. Instead, he only fires it twice for the length of the clip, and it's the first shot that gets the kills. He otherwise uses his standard railgun fire, mixing in the Disrupter Shot when it comes off cooldown. Of course, when a player gets three kills with a single shot, there's no real need to do much more.

The secret weapon for Sojourn wasn't her own abilities, however, or even the Nano Boost from Ana. It was the hallway. Getting several enemies in a hallway when Sojourn has a piercing railgun creates the opportunity for an instant victory. That doesn't mean it was easy, of course. It was well-timed and a perfect shot. Apply's strategic advantage won him the fight before it even started, and he just used the tools available to him to capitalize.

Needless to say, Sojourn is going to be a very strong hero in Overwatch 2 in the right hands. Her ability to charge railgun shots, which are effective from any range, and the Overclock to do significant damage from any potential range, will make her a persistent threat on the battlefield.
