A live fix for Sigma has been confirmed by Overwatch 2's developer team following a glitch that led to the tank hero being briefly disabled in ranked matches, with the game's director confirming that more fixes are on the way for several heroes. While Sigma may not be the first hero to be temporarily removed from Overwatch 2 due to character-specific issues, his absence was thankfully short-lived.The Overwatch 2 community quickly discovered a glaring issue with Sigma following a recent hotfix, which was allowing the character to fly indefinitely upon using his Ultimate ability. Widespread exploitation of this bug quickly led to the hero being outright disabled in the game's competitive playlist, though Sigma remained playable in the game's Quick Play mode. The latest update for Overwatch 2 brings several adjustments to both general gameplay mechanics and hero abilities, while also introducing the whole new game mode Starwatch, which brings PvP and PvE together for a limited time only.RELATED: Overwatch 2 Developer Reveals Secret Tracer TweakWhile Sigma isn't the first hero to be temporarily removed from Overwatch 2 due to character-related bugs that drastically affected gameplay, his time out of competitive matches was far shorter than that witnessed by heroes such as Bastion or May in the past. Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller recently made a post on his Twitter account confirming that fixes are live for Sigma's permanent flight bug as well as unrelated issues causing Doomfist and Ramattra to incorrectly block enemy weapon fire. Keller also revealed that the team is looking into current bugs related to Kiriko's Swift Step ability and camera shake issues during gameplay, though more information regarding these issues will become available in the future.

A follow-up tweet from the Overwatch 2 director confirmed that Sigma would be returning to competitive play as soon as the current hotfix was applied. Veteran fans of Overwatch 2 will likely remember similar bugs plaguing various heroes throughout its first season, with a previous bug allowing Bastion to use his Ultimate ability almost indefinitely. This resulted in the character's removal from all game modes for several weeks following the game's launch, so many fans are relieved to hear that Sigma will be rejoining the fight.

Though Blizzard is certainly working quickly to resolve the issues that Overwatch 2 has been facing lately, many in the game's community have been disappointed following the influx of newly-appeared bugs following the game's most recent major patch. Many players are hoping that the developers will respond to feedback regarding the new Starwatch event as the season unfolds, as frustrating team balancing issues and lackluster enemy AI has left some fans concerned about the state of Overwatch 2's PvE mode when it releases.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
