Overwatch 2 will have one more season of map pools, with Blizzard revealing all the maps that will be available to players as part of the game's Season 3 content. With the introduction of Overwatch 2, Blizzard decided to make a big change to the hero-shooter's playlists by limiting the number of maps that would appear in the standard Quick Play and Competitive Play playlists for any given season.

On one hand, this allowed Overwatch 2 to keep the focus on specific maps each season, which proved helpful when introducing the fan base to the new Push game mode. On the other hand, this meant that Overwatch 2 seasons had less variety than some might prefer. Ultimately, Blizzard has made to the decision to get rid of Overwatch 2 map pools, but that won't be happening until Season 4.

For Overwatch 2 Season 3, Push will feature New Queen Street - Morning, a new morning variant for the Colosseo map, and a morning variant for Esperanca. As far as Hybrid maps go, Overwatch 2 players will play on the morning versions of Blizzard World, Midtown, Numbani, and Paraiso, with King's Row being an evening map. Escort will have Dorado - Night, Junkertown - Morning, Rialto - Morning, and Shambali Monastery - Night, as well as new night and morning variants for Havana and Circuit Royal, respectively. And finally, the Control maps Overwatch 2 players can look forward to in Season 3 are Ilios - Morning, Lijiang Tower - Night, Nepal - Morning, and Oasis - Evening, as well as the brand-new Antarctic Peninsula map, which takes place at night.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 will begin on Tuesday, February 7, so the new map pools should be live in the game in just a day's time or so. Of course, Antarctic Peninsula is the big new addition for Season 3, and it will definitely be interesting to see how Overwatch 2 players respond to it once it's live in the game. There aren't many ice-covered maps in Overwatch 2, so it should stand out for that reason alone, but fans will have to wait to play it for themselves to see if it lives up to the other Control maps in the game.

Blizzard has outlined many events for Overwatch 2 Season 3 that fans can look forward to in the weeks ahead, but time will tell if it will all be enough to bring back lapsed players and keep hardcore fans engaged. Based on what's been shown so far, it seems Season 3 could very well be the biggest season for Overwatch 2 yet.

Overwatch 2 is out now in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
