Due to bugs with Bastion's ultimate and Torbjorn's Overload ability, Blizzard has disabled the two heroes from some matchmaking modes in Overwatch 2. Blizzard has not said how long these two will be unavailable.

The early access release of Overwatch 2 has been rough for most players. At first, there were issues just getting into the game, but now that players are getting in they are discovering a variety of bugs that scale in severity. Sometimes it's just visual glitches with heroes or some menus in Overwatch 2, which are annoying, but not game breaking. Unfortunately, when there are gameplay bugs and exploits, it can ruin the experience and give players that use them an unfair advantage. The canonical duo of Bastion and Torbjorn both have these issues.

Bastion's Artillery Fire ultimate currently has a bug that allows a player to completely paint the battlefield with targeting circles. Bastion's Artillery Fire is only supposed to have three targeting circles, but by spamming the fire button, it allows for more shots to launch as long as Bastion is in that firing mode. Overwatch fans that have seen or experienced this likened it to the AC-130 killstreak in the earlier Call of Duty titles.

Torbjorn currently has a bug where his Overload ability can go on indefinitely once the player constantly spams the button for it. This ability normally allows Torbjorn to have overhealth, faster movement, and a faster fire rate on his rivet gun. This ability makes Torbjorn harder to kill and a menace to the opposition.

Because of the bugs on both of these characters, they are both disabled in Overwatch 2 Competitive Play. Bastion is also disabled in Quick Play, but Torbjorn has avoided this. It's an easy decision to disable these heroes from Competitive as teams would want to exploit the glitch to win more games and place higher than they should be. As of writing, there is no word as to how long they will be disabled from play or a reason why Torbjorn has not been disabled in Quick Play.

This is the latest in a string of bugs that have been discovered in Overwatch 2. Though many of the bugs have dealt with visual glitches and account issues, these are on of the first ones reported that affect heroes and gameplay. This gives more fuel to fans that have been complaining about the state of Overwatch 2. Even if it's a game in Early Access, the number of bugs, glitches, and issues have now become a part of Overwatch 2's story.

Overwatch 2 is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
