Blizzard has officially revealed the new weapons and abilities that will be used by the game's next hero in Overwatch 2, Ramattra, when he releases with the game's second season on December 6. The Omnic tank hero was first revealed to be the next addition to the cast of Overwatch 2 during the Overwatch League Grand Finals some weeks back in a reveal trailer that featured his origin story and more.Fans of Overwatch 2 have a lot to look forward to in Season 2, primarily including a new hero, new cosmetics, a new map, and more. On top of that, the game's map rotation will bring many existing maps back into the fray while removing some current maps until another future season. As was first introduced with the launch of Overwatch 2 back in early October, Season 2 will bring along the game's second battle pass, featuring another long list of skins, sprays, voice lines, emotes, and more cosmetic items for players to unlock. As with the first season pass, players will need to purchase the premium battle pass if they hope to gain access to every available item, though players who have already exceeded level 200 on the current battle pass will have already unlocked levels which contribute to the next battle pass.RELATED: Overwatch 2 Player Reveals Clever Way to Counter Cassidy's Magnetic Grenade As TracerThe official Overwatch Twitter account made a post on the website including a video featuring some never-before-seen gameplay with Ramattra which demonstrated his abilities in battle. The video included a good look at Ramattra's animations, abilities, and even some of his awesome voice lines. A secondary tweet in the thread included an image detailing his abilities' names along with descriptions, explaining that Ramattra's two forms each use their own slightly different secondary weapon. In his Omnic form, Ramattra uses his Void Accelerator staff to fire a stream of nanobot-like projectiles at targets, along with using it to create barriers on the map rather similarly to how Sigma can.

However, Ramattra's unique talents are brought out in his behemoth-like Nemesis form, where he puts his staff away and instead uses Pummel to send out powerful energy shockwaves with each punch which are even capable of penetrating enemy barriers such as Reinhardt's. On top of that, Ramattra's Ravenous Vortex ability is capable of pulling enemies down from the sky and slowing them, doing damage over a wide area. And of course, the hero's Ultimate Ability - known as Annihilation - spreads nanobots that deal damage to enemies in front and lessen their damage output by 50%.

Ramattra has been a subject of great anticipation in Overwatch 2 from fans since his reveal, though many players have shown concern over the possibility of his abilities being too much of a counter against a wide variety of heroes. With Season 2 on the community's doorstep, fans won't have to wait long to find out how he plays first-hand.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
