As many fans of the franchise will have surely noticed by now, Overwatch 2 is making massive changes to the series’ hero roster. As such, it would hardly be surprising if changes for Orisa are announced soon, and one Overwatch 2 fan has shown off an ability they want to see implemented in the sequel.

Thus far, Overwatch 2 reworks have ranged from minor to extensive, though all have been interesting to read about or see in action. Brigitte’s shield no longer stuns, while Sombra stays invisible when hacking. Mei’s primary does a lot more damage instead of freezing foes, while Winston is getting an entirely new fire mode. Bastion is essentially going to be a completely different hero, while Reinhardt gets an extra fire strike and a cancelable pin. As for where Orisa’s rework will land, it will likely be similar to the one that has been teased for Reinhardt.

Overwatch 2’s Support heroes and Tanks will be the most changed categories, as the switch to 5v5 impacts them the most. While the solution for Support characters was simply to lower each character’s their healing outputs, Tanks are more complicated. With only one Tank on each team, all of them need to strong enough to carry their team forward. While Orisa is already solid as an anchor Tank, Blizzard could still add to her arsenal of moves. According to Redditor Jupiit, one new ability should be “Gallop.”

The Overwatch fan shared an incredible animation for their suggestion, with the quality being so high that it looks as if it was made by Blizzard itself. In the clip, players can see the hero running forward in a way that resembles Soldier 76’s sprint capabilities, using her many legs to propel herself forward. However, instead of just running straight, she holds one of her arms in front of her. This could allow her to take less damage when sprinting, and given that it is a sprint, she could have more control over where she is going unlike Reinhardt’s charge.

With one of the biggest complaints about Orisa being her movement speed, something like Gallop would instantly make her more fun to play. Redditor salty_biscuit7 suggests making the move function like Rein’s charge, stunning or damaging anyone who she bumps into. Redditor senoto builds off this idea, saying that it “boops” everyone Orisa runs into - allowing her to separate enemy groups and knock characters off the map. Like with Reinhardt’s new pin, senoto also wants the ability to be cancelable after it is activated.

As of now, Orisa’s Overwatch 2 rework remains a mystery. With some players suggesting a blade weapon that makes her deadlier up close, there are a lot of ideas for how to make the character viable in a 5v5 format.

Overwatch 2 is in development for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
