Some keen Overwatch 2 players have discovered that the same kitchen used in the official animated commercial for Lucio-Oh's can be found in Paraíso, one of the new maps introduced with Overwatch 2. Although the advert for the Overwatch-inspired Kellogg's cereal brand released on YouTube in late 2018, the very same cupboard and counter assets can be found in one of the spawn areas behind the Clube Sinestesia on Paraíso, presumably as a fun reference from the developers.

The new map came along with the launch of Overwatch 2 just over a week ago, currently being the only map in the game to be set in Brazil. The Hybrid map tasks the attacking team with claiming a capture point before escorting a payload across the length of the map to the finish point, while the defending team must scramble to stop them. The level features a number of references to Lucio, including a club based around the hero's music, the character's own studio and, of course, his kitchen.

The user KnightMain0 of the Overwatch 2 community made a post on Reddit pointing out the addition of the recognized kitchen, which sparked some interest in fans across social media.

The post presents a side-by-side comparison of the kitchen as it appears in the advert and the game, showing that the set appears almost identical besides the change in lighting. Some players even went as far as to propose the idea that the set used in the Lucio-Oh's commercial may have been part of an early concept for the new map.

While it's likely that this is just Blizzard referencing the commercial with the reused assets, fans on Reddit and Twitter alike took the opportunity to resurface a range of memes surrounding the cereal advertisement. Overwatch has seen its share of memes since the original game released in 2016, with Lucio and his commercial often becoming a focus point in this regard over the years.

Along with the recent premiere of the cinematic animation for the latest Support Hero, Kiriko, the community is glad to see that Blizzard is still putting in effort to develop the world of Overwatch. And with the promise of the game's PvE story content set to release sometime next year, fans are as excited as ever to step into the shoes of their favorite heroes and return to the streets of Paraíso to fight their way through the hordes of menacing Null Sector forces.

Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
