Overwatch 2 players are sharing their amusement at the discovery of a Kiriko LoFi girl spray. While the Overwatch 2 hero is new to the series, the LoFi girl is a character that many players likely recognize from YouTube.

The "LoFi girl," as she's referred to, is a character that's come to life through nearly endless streams of LoFi music on YouTube. The streams are intended to be laid-back, with chill music for viewers to listen to while they study, relax, or even sleep. The classic LoFi girl can be seen sitting at her desk writing while listening to music on headphones, as her cat sits in the window nearby.

Overwatch 2 just launched, but as players might expect, it's contains references and Easter eggs referring to the in-game universe, as well as other fictional worlds and the real world, as well. Kiriko, one of the new heroes to join the roster of playable characters, has an available spray that's simply titled "Lo-Fi." The art featured in it shows Kiriko sitting at a desk, listening to music over headphones with what looks like an iPod, while her fox lounges in the window similarly to the cat from the original LoFi streams.

The spray is gaining praise from fans, who were happy to see the reference made in the game. It's not the only spray or item that Kiriko has access to that's a reference to outside icons, as she also features a spray depicting her running with a piece of toast in her mouth while wearing a sailor-collared school uniform, a classic call-back to myriads of anime and manga. However, the original LoFi girl is such an icon that it's recognizable even for those who don't typically indulge in anime.

For Kiriko and/or LoFi fans, the new spray can be acquired by purchasing the Kiriko Legendary bundle, which comes with a legendary skin, emote, pose, voice line, and the spray. The bundle is available for 2000 Overwatch coins, or roughly $20 USD. Some fans voiced complaints at the cost, as it has exacerbated some fans' frustrations with the new free-to-play take on the series, which has locked Kiriko behind level 55 in the Overwatch 2 free battle pass. Due to its outrageous popularity and DDoS attacks, simply getting into Overwatch 2 has been a challenge for many fans, and seeing either a long grind ahead or having to open one's wallet hasn't been welcomed by many players.

In the past, the LoFi girl stream was taken down by YouTube due to copyright concerns, but it has since been restored to the internet. While Overwatch 2 seems to have some issues to iron out with the fanbase, at least players can chill out to a LoFi girl stream while they wait to gain access to the game.

Overwatch 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
