Overwatch 2 fans have spotted an unannounced map in the game's announcement trailer. Blizzard announced Overwatch 2 at BlizzCon 2019 last week confirming that players would be able to enjoy new heroes, new cosmetics, and new maps like those hidden in the trailer.

Fans say that they have found evidence of what seems to be an Overwatch 2 map set in South East Asia. A scene from the Overwatch 2 trailer shows "something like an Indian-ish city," writes one Reddit user. A piece of concept art of what seems to be the same map features the Thai city of Ayutthaya in the top left, explains another Reddit user. Ayutthaya, which was the capital city of the Kingdom of Siam is around 80km from Bangkok and is near a body of water, like in the concept art. The Reddit user who explained all of this is willing to put money on Bangkok being one of the Overwatch 2 maps.

If the map does turn out to be in India, then it could be part of Blizzard's plans to bring more story into Overwatch 2. Indian character Symmetra isn't one of the seven confirmed new character designs in Overwatch 2, but that doesn't mean that the development team isn't planning something huge for the incredibly intelligent architech. An Indian map could potentially be part of a PvE mission in the game and allow players to learn more about Symmetra.

Few fans would mind if the game took the characters to Thailand, though. Fans have been asking Blizzard to create a Thai Overwatch map for a while and the concept art for a Thai map created by a student artist only made those calls much louder. The release of the new game could be a brilliant time to give these fans what they've been asking for. Blizzard could also release a Thai hero for Overwatch 2 and giving them special voice lines for the location.

Unfortunately, fans may not get an official confirmation about this Overwatch 2 map for a while. The game isn't a huge leap from the first Overwatch and some have criticized it as being more like an expansion pack than a sequel, but this doesn't mean that Blizzard can just release the game tomorrow. The company has said that it doesn't know the Overwatch 2 release date, so it could be some time until fans get to enjoy all of the new maps and other content that Blizzard is developing.

Overwatch 2 is in development for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
