One Overwatch 2 fan has come up with an idea that could make souvenirs a more significant part of the gameplay experience. While Overwatch 2 includes a lot of cosmetics for players to purchase, many of them, including souvenirs, have been controversial.

While there have been many types of cosmetics in the Overwatch series, souvenirs are one new type introduced in the sequel. These are 3D items that can be displayed by characters in games of Overwatch 2. While Souvenirs have not been a part of the series for long, there are already quite a few for players to collect and equip. Unfortunately, some gamers seem dissatisfied with their limited function in the game.

Taking to Reddit, a user known as Nhani54 shared an idea they had regarding how souvenirs work in Overwatch 2. Specifically, the Reddit user revealed that their idea involved making souvenirs part of victory pose options. This would mean that players could display a specific souvenir during the outro of a match if their team was victorious. According to Nhani54, one of the significant reasons they wanted this change to cosmetics was because they never saw anyone using souvenirs during games.

Unsurprisingly, many members of the Overwatch 2 community were quick to weigh in with their own opinions on souvenirs. Since Nhani54 shared the idea on Reddit, more than 6.7K users have upvoted the post, with a number of players noting their displeasure with the current implementation of souvenirs. For example, some believed the inclusion of new cosmetics was a way for the developer to pad out the seasonal battle pass. In addition, other users said they did not understand the purpose of the items.

Beyond these comments, some users suggested other fixes for the in-game cosmetics. According to one user known as Peter_101, Blizzard should consider converting the existing souvenirs into more weapon charms. Interestingly, weapon charms in Overwatch 2 are another new addition to the series that allows players to better customize the looks of their guns. This idea proposed by Peter_101 also found a large amount of support among users on the platform.

It will be interesting to see if the developers at Blizzard decide to make any changes to the souvenirs in Overwatch 2 in the coming weeks. While there are many more important things that the developer is likely focused on in regard to the game, such as improving the hero balance in Overwatch 2, support for Reddit posts, such as the one created by Nhani54, show fans also care about the smaller details. Hopefully, a solution can be implemented by the developer in the future that satisfies the majority of the community.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
