An Overwatch 2 player is suggesting adding a tally or tracker on the Role Mastery challenge so players will have an easier way to track their progress. This would be a serious quality-of-life improvement that can help Overwatch 2 players save time.

The Overwatch 2 Battle Pass has a series of challenges that aim to make players experience more parts of the game. Completing these challenges gives out significant experience points that can help players get through Battle Pass levels faster. However, with every challenge needing players to perform specific tasks, keeping track of what they need to do can get lost in the natural chaos of matches. With the aim to get players into another game of Overwatch 2 almost immediately after finishing the last, depending on the role, players may not get a chance to make sure they're queuing for the right role.

An Overwatch 2 fan offers a seemingly simple addition to one specific challenge that aims to improve the ability to track what players need to do. On the r/Overwatch subreddit, jwwndell has added a simple tracker to the "Win 10 Games each as 2 different roles in Quick Play or Competitive Play" Weekly Challenge. Currently, there is no way to keep track of how many games have already been played. The challenge only notifies the player if they completed any part of the challenge, but doesn't specify the role. As one commenter stated, they've resorted to keeping track of how many games they've played and what role they played by hand.

Especially if a player opts for Open Queue matchmaking, it's almost a certainty that a player would lose track of how many games they have to win and in what role. The addition of a tracker and a checkmark for a finished part sounds like a simple thing that can be added to improve the playing experience. And most of the comments replying to the suggestion agree and applaud the suggestion. However, as with many things with the launch of Overwatch 2, other Redditors have little faith that Blizzard would correctly implement this feature the first time around or charge money for it.

Overwatch 2 developers occasionally listen to community feedback, and aside from snide remarks about Blizzard's monetization, the suggestion to add this will be a great help to its players. As an Early Access release, this can be something that the developers may already have planned to add to the game or can look to add it thanks to the community bringing it to their attention.

Overwatch 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
