Overwatch 2’s second public beta is now live for players to try out before the game launches in October. This beta allows fans to playtest the new maps, modes, and characters coming to Overwatch’s highly anticipated sequel. Including the previously featured “Push” mode, beta players can now play brand new Hybrid maps and try out the new Damage and Tank heroes, Sojourn and Junker Queen. Moreover, this beta includes gamers on Xbox and PlayStation hardware, allowing console players to join in testing out Overwatch 2.

The first beta saw a huge number of prospective players tune into Twitch livestreams for Overwatch 2 access, though now Blizzard is asking for more than a filled-out form to guarantee access to the game. This guide will show hopefuls how to get access to the beta before it ends on July 18.

How to Guarantee Overwatch 2 Beta Access

While players could previously sign up for the Overwatch 2 beta to ensure access, the June 28 deadline has already passed. If they did manage to sign up, Blizzard has promised all signees access by July 14, so fans must play a waiting game until that cherished confirmation email lands in their inbox. Though some eager Overwatch fans who signed up have already received theirs, the first large wave of emails is expected to arrive on July 5.

Unlike before, the only other way that players can get into the second beta is by buying the new Overwatch 2: Watchpoint Pack. This can be purchased at any time and guarantees immediate access to this beta and the game's early access in October.

Overwatch 2 players can find this on most platforms, Xbox and PlayStation stores included, and on Battle.net itself.

Please be aware that the Watchpoint Pack unlocks beta access exclusively on the platform it is purchased on.

Beyond beta access, for £34.99/$39.99, Watchpoint owners will receive 2 unique Space Raider skins for Soldier 76 and Cassidy, immediate unlock of the Season 1 Premium Battle Pass coming to Overwatch 2, 2000 virtual currency to purchase cosmetics or level up the Battle Pass, a somewhat ironic copy of Overwatch: Legendary Edition with 10 Legendary and Epic skins, and, for those who purchase it before October 4, an exclusive player icon.

These rewards will be added to the buyer's account when the game launches in October.

Once beta access is confirmed, open the Battle.net launcher on PC and navigate to the Overwatch tab. Above the blue “Play” button, open the “Game Version” dropdown box, and select “Overwatch 2 Beta” to install.

For console players who signed up, they will be emailed a code to redeem on the Xbox or PlayStation store, while those who bought the Watchpoint pack can download the game post-purchase.

Overwatch 2 is currently in development. The second public beta is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S until July 18.
