Overwatch 2 is not only adding new maps and additional heroes like Sojourn, but Blizzard is making some small additions to the game as well. Alongside fresh looks for each Overwatch 2 hero, extra voice lines have been added for each character - and some players recently found some great ones that trigger under certain circumstances.

It seems like Overwatch 2 is going out of its way to add unique voice lines that only trigger in very specific situations, which is exciting for those that play often and pull off some rare kills. For instance, one new Sombra voice line was found during the beta that plays when the hacker eliminates Pharah. In order for it to be triggered, Pharah needs to be hacked and fall off the map to her death, with Sombra then parodying her yell and making a noise that sounds like a crash. Now, some more unique voice lines have been found.

While those playing the Overwatch 2 beta will occasionally hear lines when their heroes kill enemies, they also have a chance to activate some special lines when they kill versions of themselves during a match. Reddit user maxkhor95 shared a video featuring several of these special lines, using the practice range to spawn in a sparring partner and switching to a matching hero in spawn. For players who often find themselves fighting someone that is using their hero, these lines should prove to be a great addition.

Doomfist’s line sees him awkwardly saying “I am the strongest version of myself,” while Roadhog says “got me” when another Roadhog is eliminated. Zarya and Junkrat both get voice lines like this, as does Hanzo, who says “I always expected I was self-defeating.” Mei rounds out the clip with the funniest line of the bunch, saying “I hope I’m not mad at me” after she takes down the copy of herself. Unsurprisingly, many Redditors appreciate these lines and are glad that Blizzard has added them to the game.

Though there are issues with the Overwatch 2 beta, as gamers feel like Support heroes need changes and some believe the game is too similar to the original, additions like this have been heavily praised by fans. Not only is it great to see some fresh lore and potential Overwatch 2 hero teasers, but it is great to hear the characters delivering some new lines and having more interactions with one another. While a back and forth between two versions of the same hero was certainly unexpected, the lines highlighted in the Reddit post are extremely fun.

As the beta continues and the player base for the hero shooter grows, more memorable voice lines could be found. This includes dialogue like this, so players should listen closely after killing the enemy team’s version of their chosen hero.
