Overwatch 2 is set to have dozens of new hero interactions for lore-focused fans to enjoy, though one for Orisa and Hanzo is more comical than serious. Just like other character interactions, Overwatch 2 players will have a chance to hear this while waiting in the spawn room.
Fans of Overwatch’s ongoing story will likely know how random this interaction is, as the two characters do not have deep ties to each other. Hanzo’s relationships are with heroes like Genji and the brand-new Kiriko, while Efi’s protector robot Orisa has a natural hatred for Doomfist. Still, though it is a surprising pairing, unique meet-ups like this will often result in some of the most memorable and comical exchanges that can be heard in Overwatch.
So long as players have both Hanzo and Orisa on the same team, there is a chance that they can hear the dialogue between the two. In the clip that shows the interaction between the Tank and Damage hero, which was posted to TikTok by @hoshizoraow and reposted to Reddit by tristanwiedman, Orisa accuses Hanzo of wanting to ride her into battle. The confused and awkward response by Hanzo is hilarious, as without admitting it directly, he basically confirms that he was having that exact thought before Orisa spoke.
In the Reddit repost of the clip, many commenters were quick to share that they would want to do the same, as riding a bull-like robot into a fight would undoubtedly make for a cool entrance. The request from tristanwiedeman for some Overwatch fan art depicting the moment could become a reality in the near future, especially as more players hear and become familiar with this interaction. Based on this single line of dialogue, the community seems to have a lot of interest in more Hanzo and Orisa interactions.
Though it may be an example of reading too much into a single conversation, the dialogue does seem to reveal a bit about where Orisa and Hanzo are at from a lore standpoint in Overwatch 2. Despite Overwatch 2’s Orisa rework making her more aggressive, she still seems to be kindhearted and playful like she was in the original game. As for Hanzo, the dialogue seems to show him lightening up a bit, with the character possibly starting to move on from his dark past following his interaction with Genji in the “Dragons” animated short.
While players will have to wait a few more days to hear other voice lines from Hanzo and Orisa, this funny dialogue will be tough to top. With Overwatch 2’s PvE content coming next year, perhaps Blizzard will make Hanzo’s dream become a reality and let him ride Orisa during a standout co-op mission.
Overwatch 2 launches in early access on October 4 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
