Overwatch 2 will have a Halloween event, scheduled to take place during Season 1 in October and November of this year. The Overwatch 2 early access release date is October 4, and since that's so close to Halloween, many assumed Blizzard would be skipping the event for the hero-shooter this year. Not only is Overwatch 2 still hosting a Halloween event despite the holiday's proximity to its official release date, but it will also be introducing a new game mode.

The Overwatch 2 Halloween event will presumably be similar to Halloween events in the original Overwatch. This means fans of the hero-shooter can expect Halloween-inspired tweaks to various maps, plus some holiday-themed skins. Fans can also count on a new version of Junkenstein's Revenge, which Blizzard has revealed is called Junkenstein's Revenge: Wrath of the Bride.

Details on what exactly this new version of Junkenstein's Revenge will entail are unavailable at the time of this writing. However, it appears to be themed after Damage hero Sombra and her Bride of Frankenstein skin. Blizzard has said that more details on Junkenstein's Revenge: Wrath of the Bride and the Halloween event in general will come soon, so fans should learn more in the weeks head. In the meantime, those looking forward to the Overwatch 2 Halloween event should note that it will run from October 25 to November 8.

Blizzard has said that Overwatch 2 fans can expect brand-new limited-time game modes as well as returning favorites. For now, the only limited-time mode confirmed for the game is Junkenstein's Revenge: Wrath of the Bride that's coming with this year's Halloween event. Assuming Overwatch 2 features all the same annual events as Overwatch 1, it's likely that a Christmas event will follow in December that could very well bring back limited-time modes like Mei's Snowball Offensive, or create something new that fits the theme.

Between the Halloween event and the Battle Pass, Overwatch 2 players should be kept plenty busy in Season 1. Overwatch 2's first Battle Pass will have 80 tiers of content for players to unlock, including five legendary skins and the grand prize Mythic Genji skin called Cyber Demon Genji for those that spring for the premium version. Needless to say, there should be no shortage of things for Overwatch fans to do once Overwatch 2 launches in early access on October 4.
