While playing Overwatch 2, one D.Va player manages to get an incredible play of the game by outsmarting the enemy team with their mech. Overwatch 2 is almost two weeks old, and gamers are already sharing some awesome highlights from their time playing matches as D.Va. While many players fear the destructive capabilities of her self-destructing mech, one gamer recently showed that they should not forget about the new one she calls in.

During a game on Eichenwalde, a Hybrid map in Overwatch 2, a Reddit user known as macadamiie showed the versatility of D.Va’s mech as a weapon. The clip shared by the gamer started with a highlight intro for D.Va as they managed to achieve the play of the game. While there is no shortage of D.Va highlights on the internet, this one stood out because the player used their Self-Destruct Ultimate not to eliminate the enemy but rather as a distraction to get an even more memorable clip.

After macadamiie activated D.Va's Self-Destruct on the objective, the enemy looked to take cover from the blast by moving behind the payload. However, they were unaware that D.Va had followed them behind the point while out of her mech. With the opposing team already focused on the exploding D.Va bomb, the Reddit user took the opportunity to call in a new mech right on top of their enemies. While the enemy team might have avoided the Self-Destruct, they could not move in time to avoid being squashed by the impact of the new mech. This resulted in a team kill for macadamiie, creating an impressive highlight in the process.

This play of the game highlight has also made quite an impact on the Overwatch 2 community, as more than 1.1K users have upvoted it in less than a day. Among the comments, one player pointed out that they had never seen a mech landing get play of the game in their years playing Overwatch. In addition, numerous gamers complimented macadamiie on their heads-up decision-making.

While this clip of D.Va using her Self-Destruct as a distraction is noteworthy, it is not the only highlight posted to Reddit recently that features the tank. For instance, a new gamer to the series managed to haphazardly stumble into a play of the game as D.Va during a recent match of Overwatch 2. With over 25 million gamers having checked out the game since launch, more highlights featuring the tank hero are doubtlessly going to appear on social media in the weeks ahead.

Overwatch 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
