Overwatch 2 has released a new trailer for its Season 1 Battle Pass, highlighting content fans can unlock, including some legendary skins. The original Overwatch games utilized loot boxes to let fans unlock new cosmetic content, but the sequel is shaking things up. As loot boxes have come under scrutiny by world governments and outright banned in some areas, Overwatch 2 has decided to leave them behind in favor of a Battle Pass, following in the footsteps of many other free-to-play games.

Blizzard has been revealing new details about the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass, and now fans have a much clearer picture of what to expect from it. The Overwatch 2 premium Battle Pass will get players instant access to new heroes, while those that decide to stick with the free Battle Pass will have to grind to tier 55 to unlock them. The Overwatch 2 premium Battle Passes will cost around $10, which is fairly standard when it comes to Battle Passes.

The Overwatch 2 Season 1 Battle Pass trailer highlights other content fans can get from it besides new heroes like Kiriko. As seen in the trailer, getting the Overwatch 2 premium Battle Pass will give players the opportunity to unlock Epic-tier skins, charms, souvenirs, and more. As soon as one buys the Battle Pass, they will get instant access to Kiriko, as well as the Cyber Pachimari charm and the D.Va EDM skin, though there will be some leveling up required to get the legendary skins.

The Overwatch 2 Season 1 Battle Pass will consist of 80 tiers when it releases on October 4, and those that manage to grind their way to the end will be treated to a very special reward. The ultimate prize for completing the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass is the Cyber Demon Genji Mythic skin, which sets a high bar for what fans can expect from the new Mythic skins moving forward.

Dedicated Overwatch fans that play Blizzard's hero-shooter regularly will likely have no problem completing the Season 1 Battle Pass, but they should note that doing so is just the tip of the iceberg. Blizzard has confirmed that Overwatch 2 has a prestige system that includes eight titles players can earn each season after they've completed the Battle Pass, so there should always be something for fans to do in the game.
