Blizzard has revealed the updated leaderboard for the Overwatch 2 Battle for Olympus event. The ongoing Battle for Olympus event embraces Season 2's Greek mythology theme, giving players a new free for all deathmatch mode where the various playable characters are redesigned to look like Greek gods and creatures. There are some unique twists with the Overwatch 2 Battle for Olympus event that has helped it stand out when compared to other limited-time modes in Blizzard's hero shooter. For example, the Overwatch 2 Battle for Olympus mode has actually tweaked the Ultimate abilities of the various heroes that players can choose from. Not only that, but Blizzard is keeping track of which heroes players get the most kills with, and plans to immortalize the winning hero with a statue on the Ilios map.RELATED: Overwatch 2 Announces New Legendary Twitch Drops to Celebrate the Lunar New YearAs revealed by the updated Overwatch 2 Battle for Olympus leaderboard, Junker Queen is in the lead with 34,465,093 kills at last count. Pharah is in second place with 32,579,481 kills, so she still has to get a staggering 2 million kills just to catch up with Junker Queen. The rest of the heroes trail so far behind that it's hard to imagine any of them stand much of a chance at catching up, but with the event running until January 19, there's certainly a possibility.

Some Overwatch 2 players have decided to start farming kills specifically to get a specific hero up the leaderboard. It's not entirely uncommon lately for players to pop into Battle for Olympus lobbies and find them full of people exclusively playing Lucio. If those players succeed, Lucio could very well end up with the Ilios statue, but there's a long way to go for the popular Support hero to catch up to Pharah and Junker Queen.

While some Overwatch 2 fans have enjoyed the aesthetic tweaks and the overall goal in Battle for Olympus, others have not been impressed by the event. Overwatch 2 fans have not liked Battle for Olympus' challenges in particular, finding them to be overly grindy and far too demanding for a limited-time mode. It's possible Blizzard will take this feedback into account and adjust future Overwatch 2 limited time game modes accordingly, but fans will have to wait and see what happens on that front.

Overwatch 2 Season 2 still has some time left before Blizzard moves on to the next season of content. It's possible Overwatch 2 Season 3 will address some lingering concerns fans have about the game beyond their issues with Battle for Olympus, but that remains to be seen.

Overwatch 2 is available now in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
