In one of those must-record moments, an Overwatch 2 player posted a video showing a one in a million Ana sleep dart shot on an enemy Mercy. Those kinds of situations aren't uncommon in Overwatch 2, and it's always a fun thing to watch it happen.
Ana is a support hero in Overwatch 2 and one of her signature abilities launches a dart that puts any struck enemy to sleep for up to five seconds, but any damage taken will immediately awaken the sleeping enemy. This can be used to great effect to lock down a slippery opponent and allow allied damage heroes to close in and quickly take them out. Most players, however, have a hard time making the kind of shot portrayed in the Reddit post made by Darqxs.
The video begins with Darqxs waiting to spawn with their teammates on the Overwatch 2 Oasis map, cycling through a few voice lines, then sprinting toward the control point in the center of the map with their team. Upon arriving at the center of the map, Darqxs saw an enemy Mercy fly over the map and quickly fired off a deadeye sleep dart. The dart hit Mercy, knocking her out of the sky and leaving her defenseless. According to a follow-up comment, Winston and Tracer were able to capitalize on the sleep dart and take Mercy down before she got away.
Oasis is one of the best maps to pull a play like that off, since the first control point has a lot of open sky for flying heroes to utilize, as well as jump pads that can catapult any hero into the air. This creates an optimal opportunity for Ana players to snipe airborne enemies with their sleep dart, and it provides a good chance for their teammates to take down the immobilized enemies. It can also be incredibly satisfying to take down a crucial support hero like Mercy in Overwatch 2.
There's definitely a lot of gratification that comes from making a smooth shot that ends up in a good kill for the team, even if it's not an Overwatch Play of the Game, even more so if the player can manage to record it and get some attention on Reddit. Of course, it can be frustrating for the player getting hit with the sleep dart and then dog-piled by enemies, but with the relatively quick respawn timers in Overwatch 2, it's not a long wait before they can get back into the fight.
