Outriders, the third-person action game from developer People Can Fly, appears to be turning into a fan favorite. While the game did have something of a rocky start thanks to server issues, it has since gone on to grow a sizable concurrent player count on Steam as those issues have been resolved.

Part of the reason for the warm embrace from fans is the multitude of build options for each of Outriders' four classes. As players level up, they unlock class points which can then be spent on various skills and stat buffs. Players won't earn a class point every time they level up, so it can be a little awkward to plan builds while playing through the game.

There are 20 class points in total, with the final point being unlocked when players reach the level cap of 30. While it can be a little hard to plan a build while still unlocking class points, the good news is that they can be easily reset. Going to the Class tab in the Hero Menu will give access to a small button on the bottom left of the screen that will allow players to reset all their class points.

They can then reassign their class points in whatever fashion they like, allowing them to explore all manner of different builds. There is no cost to do this, and it can be done as many times as needed to find a build that players will enjoy. Of course, there is much more to a good build in Outriders than just spending class points.

Synergies between items, weapons, and abilities are all vitally important. Players will want to know where to find all the chests in each area to ensure they are generating as much loot as possible and combine the right buffs and mods from their armor to really take advantage of their abilities and skills.

Outriders becomes a more rewarding experience when players can happily explore the different skill trees, changing their builds on a whim and trying out new combinations. One of the best things about the game is that a single piece of gear can inspire a whole new build, and there is no barrier to experimentation.

The final piece of the puzzle to putting together a build in Outriders is status effects. These can be inflicted by your abilities and weapons and will be affected by a player's Anomaly Power stat. Once again, figuring out exactly which nodes in the skill tree will take advantage of these effects can dramatically increase the damage they will do.

Outriders is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
