Steam has issued this week's update for its top-selling games, and there has been some massive upheaval in the top 10. For the past eight weeks, Valheim has dominated Steam's top-sellers list. That impressive streak has now come to an end. This week's list reveals that Valheim has fallen to fourth, dethroned by three new games. Claiming the top position this week is People can Fly's co-op looter shooter Outriders, followed by It Takes Two and The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.

At the top of this week's chart, the top-selling game as measured by revenue is Outriders. This isn't the first time Outriders has been on the chart, as pre-purchases for the looter shooter climbed as high as rank five this past week. While overall sales of Outriders aren't available, Steam does provide some perspective into the game's success. Sunday afternoon, Outriders crossed over 125,000 concurrent players, easily placing it in the group of Steam's most-played games for the day.

Following Outriders this week, It Takes Two was technically released the week prior to this one, so its sales have climbed impressively since launch. Word of mouth and Twitch streaming helped the co-op adventure game's sales significantly, as It Takes Two appeals to a diverse range of players. The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is the latest iteration of the popular roguelike, adding a ton of new items, bosses, enemy types, and more.

There are three other new entrants on this week's Steam top-sellers list. First is the Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition, which climbed to sixth due to an ongoing sale. Seventh was claimed by the new real-time strategy game Evil Genius 2: World Domination, a sequel to the 2004 cult hit. In eighth is a curiosity. It's Crown Packs for The Elder Scrolls Online, a premium currency for the MMO. These two climbed onto the list due to a hefty ongoing sale cutting prices up to 40%.

Rounding out the list are Valheim in fourth, the Valve Index VR Kit in fifth, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's Operation Broken Fang pass in ninth, and Cyberpunk 2077 holding onto the tenth position. Meanwhile, the adults-only game Subverse, Half-Life: Alyx, Grand Theft Auto 5, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt all dropped out of the top ten, mostly due to sales ending.

For the next week, it's difficult to imagine Outriders falling out of the top position. If anything, its popularity is growing. Some game releases that will be worth watching, however, include The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4 and the previously Apple Arcade exclusive Cozy Grove. As with every week of the Steam top-sellers list in 2021, it seems, expect surprises.

Outriders is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
