Outriders gives players unprecedented control over how their gear thanks to its crafting system. Players can modify weapons by changing its variant, swapping out mods, leveling it up to keep it relevant, and more, but all of this costs resources. For many of the modifications players make, they will need a healthy dose of Iron in order to complete it. Iron Ore can be found in ore veins all throughout Enoch, but they always respawn in the same place. For this reason, it is possible for players to follow a specific path and get as much Iron Ore as quickly as possible.

The First City is Outriders' second major area, and it is home to 15 different Iron Ore nodes This area is kind of split up into two separate sides divided by a cable car, but players can still run through the whole thing collecting iron as they go. Here is the location of all 15 Iron Ore nodes in The First City.

Outskirts - Iron Ore Node #1

Outriders First City Iron Ore Node Outskirts

Starting in the Outskirts area, the first Iron Ore node is right next to the camp. Head up towards the Exile Territory area and look right on the way up the hill. There are two more Iron Ore nodes to be found in this area.

Outskirts - Iron Ore Node #2

Inside the Exile Territory fence, head to the building in the far back corner. Pass through here to find a hill leading downward to both an Iron Ore node and a chest.

Outskirts - Iron Ore Node #3

Cross the bridge and enter the large building on the left side just before the anomaly storm-ridden hill. Head up the staircase, go outside, and turn to the right to find another Iron Ore node.

Anomaly Hilltop - Iron Ore Node #4

Outriders First City Iron Ore Node Anomaly Hilltop

Head up the Anomaly storm hill. Before entering through the broken double doors into the next area, turn right and follow a path downhill leading to another Iron Ore node and a chest. This is the only Iron Ore node in this map area, so players are good to head on to the next area.

Footbridge - Iron Ore Node #5

Outriders First City Iron Ore Node Footbridge

Run through the Anomaly Hilltop area until reaching the beacon flag called Footbridge (it may be faster to go back and warp here since there are enemies in the Anomaly Hilltop area). In total players can find two different Iron Ore nodes here. The first Iron Ore node is on a rock on the right side wall.

Footbridge - Iron Ore Node #6

Continue following the path to find a small house to the left. Run past it slightly to find an Iron Ore node on a rocky cliff on one side of the house.

Old Man's Hut - Iron Ore Node #7

Outriders First City Iron Ore Node Old Man's Hut

This Iron Ore node can only be obtained during the side quest "No Place Like Home." To make farming this one easier, it helps to clear the entire side quest but don't finish it by waiting for the old man. This will keep the area unlocked and the enemies cleared so that players don't have to fight their way through the quest every time. The ore itself is located on the right side after the gate leading to the Old Man's Hut behind two containers stacked on top of each other. For most farming runs it may be wise to simply skip this one since it is out of the way.

Hangman's Tree - Iron Ore Node #8

Next, use the Footbridge beacon flag to warp to the Hangman's Tree beacon flag or use the cable car to get down to this area. Head around the side of the tree towards the water and find the Iron Ore node nestled in the corner here. This is the only Iron Ore node here so continue on to the Main Street area.

Main Street - Iron Ore Node #9

Outriders First City Iron Ore Node Main Streeta

Run through the Containment or warp to the Side Alley beacon flag to get to the Main Street. There are three Iron Ore nodes here in this area, but the first one is right at the entryway. When facing the bridge, turn around and head to the farthest corner to see another Iron Ore node near a chain link fence. Players can also find several of The First City Journal Entries in this area.

Main Street - Iron Ore Node #10

Continue on through the Main Street area and get closer to the bridge. Make a right turn beforehand and mine the second Iron Ore node next to the metal staircase.

Main Street - Iron Ore Node #11

Return to the bridge again but this time make a left turn. Follow the wall and the third Iron Ore node is attached to a rock right up against it. This is the last Iron Ore node in the main quest areas of The First City, as the remaining four are all found in another side quest area. Aside from having a lot of ore and journal entries, this area is also great for World Tier farming.

Boglands - Iron Ore Node #12

Outriders First City Iron Ore Node Boglands

The next four Iron Ore nodes can only be found during the "Endless Dark" sidequest. This quest can be accepted by talking to Zahedi in Camp and asking him about the other Outriders. Like the other sidequest related ore nodes, it helps to complete this quest completely but don't turn it in for the reward so that the area stays open and the enemies stay dead. The first one is found in the first major encounter area here on the side of a rock in the middle of the map.

Boglands - Iron Ore Node #13

Outriders First City Iron Ore Node Boglands

Continue to find the entrance to a cave. There are three Iron Ore nodes to be found in here. For the first one, check the right side wall before entering the large cavernous area.

Boglands - Iron Ore Node #14

Outriders First City Iron Ore Node Boglands

Enter the cavernous area of the cave and locate a large stone pillar. Head counter clockwise around this to find the next Iron Ore node on the wall.

Boglands - Iron Ore Node #15

Continue going counterclockwise around this main support and the last Iron Ore node in this area is found on the wall to the player's right before the exit of the cave leads outside. Since there are quite a few Iron Ore nodes all bundled together here, it's usually worth taking this sidequest when farming for Iron Ore.

Outriders is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
