The Outer Worlds' first DLC, Peril on Gorgon, has just been released, and it gives players the chance to visit a brand new planet, obtain some unique weapons and armor, and more. However, before fans can experience the DLC for themselves, they must first access it, and the way that is done may not be immediately obvious. Fortunately, it is quite easy to start Peril on Gorgon with just a bit of instruction, though some players may find that they are not able to do so immediately.

To put things simply, fans must complete the Radio Free Monarch quest before they are able to play The Outer Worlds' Peril on Gorgon DLC. With this requirement met, players should fly their ships to any planet, and this action will lead to a conversation with a Parcel Runner. Through this dialogue fans will ultimately receive a a new quest called The Ones Who Walk Away From Gorgon, and indeed this will serve as the entry point into this single-player RPG's new DLC.

There is one big caveat here, though, and that is that players that have passed the point of no return in The Outer Worlds are simply unable to start Peril on Gorgon. This point comes upon landing on Tartarus, and some fans may recall that they were prompted to perform a manual save just before that occurred. Players that are having trouble playing The Outer Worlds' new DLC are thus advised to look for any saves that they made after completing Radio Free Monarch but before traveling to Tartarus.

If a fan is unable to locate such a save then they will need to take a new character to the requisite point in the story before they are able to access Peril on Gorgon. On the bright side, it does not take very long to beat The Outer Worlds, which means that players can reach the Radio Free Monarch quest without a huge time investment, though some fans may still not be thrilled to play through the game again.

One final thing to say is that players that are still having trouble starting Peril on Gorgon should fully confirm that they have purchased and installed it. This may be especially relevant to those fans that are playing the game through Xbox Game Pass and expected the DLC to included with that offering, which it is not, and checking for a Peril on Gorgon banner on the main menu is an easy way to make sure that everything is in order.

The Outer Worlds is available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
