In just under 10 months, the highly-anticipated Mortal Kombat movie reboot will finally arrive, and it is sure to be filled with plenty of crazy costumes, epic battles, and ultra-violence. While waiting for the release of this new Mortal Kombat movie, some fans may be interested in revisiting the original live-action film from 1995, and it is just about to become easier than ever to do exactly that.
More specifically, the original Mortal Kombat movie will be available to stream though Netflix beginning on April 1, 2020. This information was recently confirmed with the release of a full list of titles that will be coming to Netflix in April, and other notable action movies on that list include the legendary Matrix trilogy and the Jean-Claude Van Damme vehicle Bloodsport.
For those that have not seen the original Mortal Kombat movie before, it centers around Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, and Sonya Blade's attempt to save the world from the evil Shang Tsung (played by the phenomenal Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa). While critical response to the film was not particularly positive at the time of its release, and it currently sits at 43% on Rotten Tomatoes, the Mortal Kombat movie has become something of a cult classic. As such, some fans will certainly be happy to have easy access to the tile through Netflix streaming.
The arrival of the original Mortal Kombat movie on Netflix is not the only thing for fans of the franchise to look forward to in April, though, as Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge is set to release next month as well. This animated film will focus on Quan Chi and the origin of the iconic yellow ninja Scorpion, and it will be available both digitally and on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-Ray.
With the current recommendations against gathering in groups, which come as a result of the coronavirus, many individuals are looking for entertainment that can be enjoyed alone.
