During the most recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, fans were shocked to learn that Xbox indie darling Ori and the Will of the Wisps was not only releasing on Switch, but it was available that very day as a digital download.

Developer Moon Studios also confirmed that it will be releasing both Ori and the Will of the Wisps and its predecessor, Ori and the Blind Forest, which came to Switch as a digital title last September, physically as part of a special collector's edition. While it comes with a bunch of extra goodies, it does cost $150, which may put off those who simply want physical copies of the two games for their collection.

Fortunately, when a fan quizzed the official Twitter account about it, it replied by saying that standard physical versions of the two games will be made available later this year at select retailers. iam8bit, which is publishing the collector's edition, also issued a statement that said regular editions will release in December. And though it didn't provide a price, they will most definitely be cheaper than the collector's edition.

Fans are certainly pleased to be able to re-experience the game again, though some may be wondering what Moon Studios is working on next. So far, we have very few details, with the only info fans do have being that it is an action-RPG of some kind, with a job ad hinting that it will draw inspiration from Dark Souls, Diablo, and The Legend of Zelda. It most likely won't have any connection to the Ori series either.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is available on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
