A tweet from Ori and the Blind Forest developers Moon Studios has confirmed that its next game will be an action-RPG. The tweet also announces that the new title from the Ori developers will be published by Private Division, a US-based publisher most famous for Kerbal Space Program and The Outer Worlds.

There are no further details on the upcoming title yet, but it's likely to employ the unique blend of painterly-style and refined game-play that Moon Studios have become known for.

Founded in 2010, Moon Studios is the brainchild of Thomas Mahler, a former Cinematic Artist at Blizzard Entertainment, and Gennadiy Korol, a former Senior Graphics Engineer at Animation Lab. Since then, the Austrian-based studio has put out a pair of titles in their Ori series. The first, Ori and the Blind Forest, released to critical acclaim in 2015, with its sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, receiving a similar reception in March of 2020.

This new partnership with Private Division represents a step away from Microsoft for the developers, as both their previous games were published by the tech giant. The New York-based Private Division was founded in 2018, and is a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive. The company focuses on indie titles developed by small to mid-sized developers, making it a perfect fit for Moon Studios.
