So you’ve listened to Knox berate you with his vulgar vocabulary while prepping for a raucous good time with your AI squadmates or friends with Operation Flashpoint: Red River. If you had a moment to glance over our review, you saw that while it had much to offer in terms of gameplay, it could have at this point, run out of steam if you were playing by yourself.
Thankfully Codemasters realizes that little fact, and has decided to grant players a little present in the form of Operation Flashpoint: Red River’s first set of DLC, titled “Valley of Death.” Set to release tomorrow — June 28th — for 560 MSP on Xbox Live or $6.99 on the PSN or Windows Marketplace, the pack will include eight new Fireteam Engagements for either solo play or 4-player co-op.
The eight new engagements have been split up into four sub-sections: Combat Sweep missions, two CSAR missions, two Last Stand missions and two new Rolling Thunder missions. Not only will the missions give new objectives, but also a few new locations as well. Take a look at the trailer below to see a little of what’s in store.
Downloadable content will go a long way in terms of having a longer and more enjoyable experience in games like Red River, but it’s a lot to say that eight different missions will make the grade and keep it a game on your shelf. Then again, Codemasters has done well with recent patch updates to help mitigate issues with team AI, making it so Red River may in fact have a lasting impression.
If you’re going to be picking up the DLC tomorrow, let us know so we can get your opinion. Either that, or let us know so we can simply try and get over Knox’s voice together.
Operation Flashpoint: Red River is currently out for the for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC
