The indie farming sim Ooblets has released its Version 0.6 update for PC and Xbox players, bringing a new Wildlands area to the game as well as other locations and some quality-of-life upgrades.

Ooblets is a quirky spin on the farming simulator genre. Players can grow plants from seeds that turn into Ooblets, which can later enter into Pokemon-like battles. However, instead of harming other Ooblets with attacks, the little creatures have dance battles with one another. Ooblets is currently still in Early Access, meaning it's fully playable and many fans have great experiences with it, but it's still somewhat unpolished. With the recent 0.6 update, Ooblets inches a bit closer to a full version 1.0 release, slated for later this year.

The Wildlands is an area of free roaming Ooblets, which used to be a system quickly thrown together last summer, according to developer Glumberland. It used to be an area to deposit excess or unwanted Ooblets in order to repopulate the area, but it was closed off to players.

With Ooblets' recent update, the Wildlands area can now be unlocked with a series of quests called the Wildlands Revitalization Project. Through these new goals, players can unlock new areas within the Wildlands: Spicyspear Scrub, a forgeable grove; Droneydrop Pond, a new fishing spot; and Burnycrop Crag, a nurny mine.

In addition to the new areas, the recent Ooblets update allows players to retrieve deposited Ooblets. A couple of new recipes and some bug fixes have also been included in the update.

Ooblets is available in Early Access on PC and Xbox One.
